“The Cause of all Negative Emotions is a Disruption in the Body’s Energy System”

EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as Tapping, is a talking therapy with a physical component. It involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on and verbalising an emotional or physical issue. This process helps restore balance to the body’s energy system, allowing emotional, psychological, and even physical challenges to be resolved effectively.

EFT Tapping was developed in the United States by Gary Craig, a former engineer who later became a Performance Coach. Craig trained under Dr. Roger Callahan, the founder of Thought Field Therapy (TFT), during its early development. While he valued TFT, Craig questioned its complexity and consistency.
Through working with clients, he discovered that the method could be greatly simplified. He created a universal tapping sequence that stimulates all of the body’s meridians at once, rather than using different tapping algorithms for each issue. This made EFT easier to learn, more accessible, and highly effective.
The combination of tapping on acupressure points while using carefully chosen language creates measurable changes in brain chemistry. Research shows that EFT helps calm the amygdala—the part of the brain responsible for fear and stress responses—while supporting activity in the hippocampus, which plays a key role in processing experiences, learning, and finding solutions.
These neurological shifts allow emotional blocks to release and enable clients to experience meaningful emotional and psychological change. As a result, they are able to view situations from a new perspective and respond with greater clarity and calm. EFT works quickly and directly, going straight to the root of the issue.
EFT can be used to support healing from trauma, phobias, PTSD, anxiety, and stress, as well as addictions and cravings. It can also support weight management and help cultivate a focused, lighter, and more positive mindset, empowering clients to move towards their goals.
There is a growing body of scientific research linking EFT to neuroplasticity, memory reconsolidation, epigenetics, stress regulation, and psychoneuroimmunology. These studies highlight how the body’s energy system is closely connected to the way information is stored and communicated throughout the body, and how EFT can positively impact both emotional wellbeing and physical health.
Working with EFT is deeply rewarding. As a practitioner, I often witness physical, emotional, and psychological shifts unfolding in real time as sessions progress. I am incredibly passionate about EFT and proud of the meaningful difference it allows me to make in people’s lives.
